Went to LACMA’s annual artwalk for the first time this weekend. To be honest it was a little disappointing (you’d think they’d time it with some cool exhibits but most of their main exhibit spaces were being installed). However, I did see some really interesting photographs of life in east L.A in a participating gallery across the street, and that did lead me to walk through this cool lobby I otherwise would never have gone through. Retna’s signature calligraphy street art can be seen all over this city but I thought it looked especially cool coming through the window in the afternoon sun. It is calming to look at as this busy week starts nearing an end.
