As mentioned in my last post, here are more pictures from my visit to the PLANEfurniture exhibit at the Edward Cella gallery on miracle mile. Designed by noted collector and designer Michael Boyd, it is inspired by modern designers that Boyd admires (more info in the link). I think some look of questionable comfort, and some could become iconic designs. I especially like the red chair in the first picture. The small gallery did a good job displaying them, and they had a very cool front counter made out of cardboard.
What is it about chairs? I think moreso than any other piece of furniture it can reach cult status, a simple structure serving a simple purpose that inspires endless iterations and forms.
I want to buy one really good timeless chair. In time :)
